Spicy Cumin Chicken

This Spicy Cumin Chicken is super easy and pairs perfectly with a variety of sides. For this healthy meal I've served this chicken with some of my delicious Baba Ganoush, a sprinkle of cilantro, and a fresh sqeeze of lime!


1 large Chicken Breast

1/2 tsp Cumin Powder

1-3 tsp red chili powder (to taste)

2 tsp lime juice

1/4 tsp black pepper

Salt to taste



  1. Pat chicken breast dry with a paper towel, and then add in all the ingredients. Marinate for 30 min, or overnight for best results.

  2. Heat a heavy pan on high, add in a bit of oil, then add in chicken and brown/char on one side for about 2 minutes, and then flip over to char the other side.

  3. Once it has a nice char on both sides, turn the heat to medium low, cover the pan, and cook for another 5-8 mins, depending on the thickness of your chicken breast, until it reaches 165 F. Do not overcook as it will dry out. Flip the chicken over mid way. Take it off the pan once done.

  4. Wait 2-3 mins before cutting into the chicken, to let the moisture reabsorb into the meat. All the juices will spill out, and your chicken will be dry if you don’t let it rest first!

  5. Serve with your favorite sides, and enjoy!
